Semi-Advanced to Advanced Dance Camp with Miss Renee DeVoe Ages 14+ (previous training required) Monday through Saturday August 3-8 M-F 6:00pm-9:00pm; 9:00am-noon Saturday including 11:00 showcase (combined with Music Theater Camps) About Renee DeVoe: Renee was born in NY then grew up in Saratoga, California. She fell in love with musical theater at a young age while cast in the musical SCROOGE with the San Jose Children’s Musical Theatre. She then began training in ballet, jazz dance, and voice while performing in several productions. At age 16, she landed her first dance and singing gig at Marriott’s Great America amusement park and later earned a theater degree from UC Irvine. Some of her professional credits include; the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics, Hollywood,Hollywood, Hello in Reno Nevada, 42nd Str on Norwegian Cruise lines, Smoke On The Mountain in Chicago, Illinois, and Les Miserables in Kansas City. Renee has taught ballet and jazz dance since age 16 in numerous settings including San Jose Conservatory , Culture House Academy for the Performing Arts; Kansas, and SUNY Potsdam. Simultaneously, she choreographed several musicals and dance pieces plus launched both Project 1:50, a dance troupe with Christian Fellowship Center in Madrid, New York, and the Academy of the performing arts of Northern New York. She has also taught Spanish in several schools in Chicago and Kansas. She now resides in Kansas City near two of her four children yet is thrilled and honored to return briefly to Potsdam teaching a week of dance!
